Introduction 1.1 Brief overview of the company The brand Dettol came up with a product of Antiseptic Liquid to treat cuts and wounds. Dettol originated from India and launched their first store in 1933. It has been the most trusted brand in India for a long time. Dettol was not only to treat cuts and wounds but it became used in hospitals and nursing homes. Consumers also used it to clean their floor and to bathe. Dettol does not only have the Antiseptic Liquid product but has other product categories that they extended to such as, liquid hand wash, liquid body wash, toilet soaps, shaving creams and plaster strips that were introduced over the years since establishment. Reckitt Benckiser India Ltd is #1 in the world for house hold cleaning. They manufacture, market and distribute Dettol in over 180 countries. Dettol has distinct associations with its strong smell. When customers apply the product they feel a tingling sensation that no other product in the same market has. Both of these factors are Dettol’s trademark qualities. 3.
